Hosting a Book Launch
Each book launch host will have individual needs. Here is a list of things to keep in mind when deciding to host a book launch:
Advertising: For every book launch Red Deer Press will provide black and white flyers and posters to promote the event. In terms of placing ads and in print publications (i.e.. Local newspapers) there may be co-op funds available. Time Lines
It is best to have books available at least two weeks in advance of a book launch. This is so the book can be promoted before the launch and to get people excited to meet the author/illustrator. When planning a book launch please consider delivery times for orders (usually no more than two weeks) and two weeks to promote the book launch.
Invitations
One of the best ways to get people excited about attending a book launch is to send them invitations either in the mail or by e-mail. Regular
customers or people who receive newsletters are the best audience for you to invite. An invitation list is also a good way to gauge how many people to expect at the event especially if you include RSVP information. Red Deer Press will assist you by designing and printing invitations. Refreshments
