EDUCATION:  1976   Bachelor of Arts,  University of Lethbridge,  Major in Clinical Psychology and Canadian History,  Minor in Art.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE: 1980-87  Lethbridge Community College courses taught primarily  included Oriental Brush Techniques and location/ plein air painting.

TRAVELING EXHIBITIONS:   Traveled Under the auspices of the AFA:     Ten group exhibits organized by The Alberta Foundation for the Arts Traveling Exhibition Program (AFATEP),1982 - 2002, under the auspices of the  AFATEP program: The Provincial Museum of Alberta, The Edmonton Art Gallery, The Southern Alberta Art Gallery, the Medicine Hat Museum and Art Gallery, and The Art Gallery of Calgary (formerly known as The Muttart Art Gallery).   Highlights include:
1999 - 2002   “Finding Our Way Home; Alberta’s Disappearing Grain Elevators”, Harcourt House, Edmonton.   Two person exhibit:  Robert McInnis & Karen Brownlee.  Traveled to approximately 20 sites including public art galleries, heritage centers, libraries, schools, seniors centres, and so on.
1998 - 2001   “Rural Prairie Communities”, Muttart Art Gallery , Calgary AB.  Traveled to approximately 20 sites as above.

2000        Alberta Foundation for the Arts Visual Arts Project Grant: Partial cost of creation costs of the Rural Prairie Communities series, exhibited in “Back Home 2005" and included in “Alberta Remembers” .

1988      Alberta Culture Travel Grant to study with Zoltan Szabo:  6 day workshop,  Jasper, Alberta

1982      Alberta Culture Travel Grant to facilitate study Oriental Brush Painting with Chien Shek Lam of Calgary.  

Awards
1998     Prairie Heritage preservation Award, from Davis & Henderson Intercheques.  The Alberta recipient to honor individuals and organizations who have demonstrated a past and continuing commitment to prairie heritage preservation. Given for the development of the Rural Prairie Communities series.

Accomplishments

1991           First  woman  member in Southern Alberta, Lions Club; Lethbridge Host Club
